YOUNG PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT: BECOME A LINKEDIN PRO FEB. 20

Do you have a LinkedIn account, but not sure how to use it? Are you new to LinkedIn? Think you are a LinkedIn pro?

Join the AIM Young Professionals of Dearborn County for our Professional Development Speaker Series, "LinkedIn: The Basics & the Value to a Young Professional." The event takes place Thursday, February 20 at 6:30 p.m. in the conference room at Ivy Tech Community College's riverfront campus, 50 Walnut Street, in downtown Lawrenceburg, Indiana.

This 60 minute session will get you started by teaching you the basics to get the most of your professional brand on the  largest professional network on the Internet. Founded in 2003, the social network connects more than 259 million members worldwide, including executives from every Fortune 500 company. 

The session will be led by Erin Boyce, Associate Director of Global Talent Acquisition at dunnhumby and AIM YP Professional Development Chair. Erin has over 10 years of experience in Talent Acquisition and an advocate for LinkedIn. 

She will review the LinkedIn basics:

  • What is LinkedIn?
  • Identity: Defining your professional brand
  • Networking: Building  your professional connections
  • Insights: Industry, Companies, and Groups
  • Demo: Creating a brilliant profile
  • Value: Student, Young Professional, or Business Owner
You will take home hand-outs on “Ten Tips to Building a Strong LinkedIn Profile," “The Ultimate Cheat Sheet for Mastering LinkedIn,” and a free gift.

Cost is free to AIM YP members and Ivy Tech Community College students. All others are welcome to attend for a contribution of only $5. 

Non-members can purchase a one- or two-year AIM YP membership anytime at www.AIMYP.com and click on "Become a Member." Cost for a one-year membership is just $25 for employees of Dearborn County Chamber of Commerce member businesses and just $35 for employees of non-chamber members.

Throughout 2014, AIM YP will host an array of professionals from various fields in a series of Professional Development Seminars focused on relevant topics important to students and anyone in the workforce.
