5TH ANNUAL AIM YP 5K RUNS ALONG THE RIVER MAY 7

Lace up your running shoes. The 5th Annual AIM Young Professionals of Dearborn County 5K takes off Saturday, May 7. This year's race is presented by the Greendale Redevelopment Commission.

The footrace is AIM YP’s largest fundraiser of the year for our Maverick Challenge business planning competition and scholarships we provide to students at each of Dearborn County’s three high schools: Lawrenceburg, South Dearborn, and East Central.

This year’s 5K run and walk begins at 9:00 a.m. on May 7 on the picturesque Lawrenceburg Levee and Dearborn Trail. Registration and check-in begins at 8:00 a.m. in the lobby of Ivy Tech Community College, 50 Walnut Street, in Lawrenceburg. The start and finish line is at the nearby Levee Bar and Grill.

There are many ways you can participate in this event. Runners and walkers can register online at www.runningtime.net by Wednesday, May 4 for a cost of $20 for participants 14 or older and $10 for kids 13 and under. Pre-registration by May 4 includes a free AIM YP 5K t-shirt. Strollers are allowed with a paid adult. A print-and-mail registration form is available at www.AIMYP.com.

Don’t wait to sign up! Registrations placed after May 4 or on the day of the race will see the cost increase to $25 for ages 14 or older and the 5K t-shirts available in limited supply will cost $10.

Runner divisions: Male and female 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 and over.

Walker divisions: Male and female 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 and over.

Awards will be presented immediately following the race for the overall top male and female runners and walkers. Also, age group awards will be given to the top male and female runners and walkers in each division.

Cool down after the race with a post-party, awards and lunch at the Levee Bar & Grille at the DoubleTree by Hilton hotel.
